Coral Rock Hotel, Zanzibar

Coral Rock Zanzibar has been described as the jewel of Jambiani. The hotel’s exquisite location is unrivaled. Built atop an ancient coral rock that juts out into the ocean and flanked by two striking beaches. The hotel offers the ideal tropical island holiday. Guests often spend hours staring out at the water where the changing of the tides reveal 100 shades of blue. Whether in the restaurant, bar or any room in the hotel, visitors can experience the stunning beauty of these same sea views.

Even the waters of Jambiani and surrounding areas are totally safe. A natural sand bar, stretching over a kilometre out to sea creates a spectacular natural tidal swimming pool protected from the strong ocean currents and dangerous marine creatures.

Jambiani is one of the best kept secrets in Zanzibar. This little fishing village was until recently virtually inaccessible. Adventurous travellers in the know were drawn to Jambiani because it has been untainted by commercial tourism. The villagers exhibit a genuine sincerity when welcoming visitors to Jambiani.

Fish Eagle
Fish Eagle Point is Tanzania’s latest beach resort with a difference, secluded, pristine, ‘far from the madding crowds’ and eco friendly… This uniquely beautiful ocean resort was opened for business late 2008. Located north of the historic City of Tanga, it is Northern Tanzania’s first coastal resort. The setting is beachfront, backed by coastal forest, mangroves and ancient coral cliffs… truly idyllic. The pool is a welcome recent addition. All rooms are open and airy, with high ‘makuti’ thatch roofs. All have en suite facilities with flush toilets and hot and cold showers. Mosquito nets are custom made for each bed. Each room has a lockable secure room for your peace of mind. Baby cots (with nets) are available.

Swimming in the ocean, at both high and low tides is a treat, high tides reach well up into the bays for safe swimming with no currents; spring tides will almost lap your room! Snorkeling at any time around the lagoon the drop off or, at higher tides around the mangroves is a must! The seafront, with protected coves and bays, offer wonderfully ‘child friendly’ swimming at both high and low tides. Additionally the surrounding mangroves hold the very beginnings of coastal life… Peace and tranquility prevail here – be it strolling amidst the wild, tropical, coastal vegetation – swarming with birdlife, the elusive suni, bushpig and bushbuck; haven too, to giant squirrels, monkeys and baboons… or gently ambling along white, sandy beaches – past coves, offering up an assortment of interesting rock pools featuring a myriad of exotic sea creatures. Here is an incredibly beautiful meeting place – untouched African wilderness stretching onto the ocean shores, against a backdrop of blue skies-by-the-acre and harmonized by perfect remoteness.
